Friday night live at Transistor: Synthpop trio WINGTIPS and psychedelic-electronic power trio Mystery Crash. Sound by Jon Monteverde.

WINGTIPS is Vinny Segretario’s synthpop dreamscape. Having produced under the pseudonym since 2012, he aims to fabricate an alternative by combining cosmic synth atmospheres with a perpetually inventive dance pulse, all making way for a glowing maximal pop paradise.

For this Transistor show WINGTIPS performed songs from their forthcoming album, ULTRAVISION, as well as material from previous releases.

Mystery Crash is an independent three-piece group based out of Chicago. It began with the release of “Year of the Rabbit” in the summer of 2012. The latest EP, “Gimp Nation,” was released in the late fall of 2013. Their music comes from a desire for experimentation stemming from electronic-influenced psychedelic rock. For Mystery Crash’s performance at Transistor, they expressed the musical desire for ambient stillness bridged to a positive upbeat dance floor atmosphere, while somehow finding a way to visit the jungle along the way.
