Friday night live at Transistor: Bode Radio and Alta Vista. Sound by Jon Monteverde.
Bode Radio involves two gentlemen who, prior to playing music, were oblivious to their kinship. Fast forward an odd number of years and the cousins have managed to collaborate in their most experimental venture yet. Alex Y. and Spencer A. have made what Mutable Sound describes as "a jarring fusion of the exotic and deranged." Bode Radio uses elements found in minimalist contemporary music as well as electronic and groove based compositions.
For their Transistor set Bode Radio performed tracks from their latest release "Dustbowl Masquerade" and previous EPs. Expect bits to be crushed, some jolting shifts, and toast to a species that doesn't quite exist.

Alta Vista (Dan Zorn) is an artist who utilizes loop-based rhythms and melodies to create what he calls hypotonic dance music. "Indoor Kid," his debut album, integrates various influences from his roots in house and synth pop music, and what we end up with is a unique new take on current electronic dance music.
For this Transistor show Alta Vista played a set of original material, mixing songs from his old project Sones and new songs as Alta Vista. Expect upbeat energy mixed with tension-inducing builds, vocal chants and intense moments of danceability.
