Charlatan is the solo project of Chicago native Omar Rashan. Combining his love for noise rock, shoegaze and pop, he forged his own solo project drawing heavily from these elements, assisted by electronic beats, synthesizers, and highly textured guitars. The first album (self-titled) was released in 2013.

For this Transistor set, Charlatan performed plaintive pop tunes, accompanied by galvanic beats, buzzing synthesizers and haunting melodies.
