Friday night live at Transistor: singer-songwriters Sue Fink, Chris Corsale and Laura Joy.  Sound by Jon Monteverde. 

Sue Fink is a Chicago-based, nationally touring singer/songwriter who entertains audiences with her quirky perspective on life. Her genre is acoustic/folk with a hint of jazz, a large dollop of humor, and a drop of sadness for good measure. Her songs have received national and local airplay on numerous folk shows, including Richard Milne's "Local Anesthetic" (WXRT), Rich Warren's "The Midnight Special" (WFMT), Lilli Kuzma's "Folk Festival" (WDCB), and "The Razor and Di Show" (WLUW).

For this Transistor show, Sue featured original songs that showcased different characters and perspectives, and outcomes based on both.

Chris Corsale is a Chicago-based singer-songwriter/guitarist who blends rock, pop and R&B into an Elvis Costello-like concoction.  It's songwriter music with hooks, brought to life through Chris's soulful singing and masterful guitar work. He's been playing nationally and on the Chicago music scene since about 2000, and currently plays with The Right Now and as a solo act. He's opened for Lisa Loeb, George Clinton, Fitz & The Tantrums, the Jayhawks, and many others. Chris teaches guitar at Old Town School of Folk Music and plays nearly every weekend in the Chicago area.

Drawing comparisons that range from Joni Mitchell to Laura Marling, Laura Joy’s brand of acoustic song combines percussive finger picking with a remarkably buoyant voice. Playing an average of 100 shows per year, Laura has performed for audiences nationwide, from Club Passim in Cambridge, MA to the prestigious St. Joseph Chapel in Milwaukee. Laura has opened for Hammel on Trial, poet Staceyann Chin, and Greg Brown. In January, 2013, she was awarded as a top finalist in the Broward Folk Club Songwriter Competition in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In 2015, her song "Takes A While" was recognized among the Best Songs of the Year on WDCB's Folk Festival program with Lilli Kuzma.
