Friday night live at Transistor: acoustic Americana-ish duo Sugar Still and pop with a twist of blues & soul from Elle Casazza. Sound by Jon Monteverde. 

Fearless, sultry and powerful – just a few words to describe Elle Casazza (pictured with Sarah Blick on violin). Based in Chicago, Elle writes and performs music that is the love child of pop, rock, blues, soul, and jazz. Her commanding vocals send chills to those who listen. Listening to Amy Winehouse, Billie Holiday, KT Tunstall, Joni Mitchell and Ella Fitzgerald have influenced Elle’s eclectic writing style. She has played at numerous Chicago venues, including Daley Plaza, the Auditorium Theatre, Concord Music Hall, Mayne Stage, Schubas and SPACE, to name a few. Elle’s debut EP “For Your Pleasure” was released in May of 2013. She plans on releasing new singles throughout 2015.

For Elle’s performance at Transistor, she played her tunes on her acoustic guitar.

Sugar Still’s Sarah Blick and Charlie Cheney share a love of melody, vocal harmonies, uptempo grooves, and powerful story songs filled with loss and regret. They also share a love of gypsy jazz, Americana, and folk/blues roots music. They formed Sugar Still to perform original and cover songs using a playful irreverence infused with “whiskey-soaked harmonies straight from the kettle and the copper wire.” The new electrified acoustic duo features Sarah on violin and vocals and Charlie on guitar and vocals.

For their Transistor set, Sugar Still brings you tears, smiles, laughs, and bluesy harmonies wrapped up in powerful guitar and violin melodies.
