hicksoncompactgroup is the solo project of Chicago-area musician Matt Pataky. Taking influence from minimalist, experimental, and roots music, while using various instruments and self-taught recording techniques, HCG attempts to make abstract songs which are timeless in sound.

For this Transistor performance, HCG performed solo guitar through a string of effects pedals and amplifiers. Creating live loops and sound manipulations with prepared guitar, songs go from gradual finger-picked melodies to spaced-out drone.
